What are your memories of visiting the Alabama Gulf Coast? Walking past sand dunes that rose over your head before finally hitting the Gulf of Mexico? A blue-green gulf so clear you could see your toes in waist-deep water?

Yes, indeed. We have a beautiful paradise that stretches along 32 miles of white-sand beach. And we want to keep it that way.

Those memories you have of beautiful beach vacations should be experienced by your kids and grandkids. Leave Only Footprints is a campaign working to make that happen.

Want to be a part of the effort? It’s as simple as 1, 2, 3.

One, clean up behind yourself after spending a day at the beach. Put trash in proper receptacles and take in beach gear and toys.

Two, don’t take anything that is prohibited (such as glass, fireworks, pets, etc.) to the beach.

And last, use boardwalks instead of walking on the sand dunes and sea oats that protect the beach from erosion.

Like we said, it’s simple – right? Join us in keeping the beaches and coast beautiful for generations to come.
