boats on water in Gulf Shores, AlabamaThe coastal cities of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are rich with back bays and waterways. Naturally, one of the best ways to explore them is by boat!

It’s easy to find a variety of cruises and personal watercraft rentals at most marinas. If you are a boat owner and want to bring your own, remember to check all the Alabama requirements ahead of time. You can find information on equipment, licenses, rules and regulations on the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency website.

One of the favorite boating adventures for our area is to visit Bird Island and Robinson Island in Orange Beach’s Perdido Pass. Both of these tiny islands are sanctuaries for sea birds, marine mammals and coastal plant life. When you venture out to either location, be sure to follow the rules and regulations posted, and Leave Only Footprints when you depart.
