Random Acts of Kindness Day is February 17, serving as a great reminder to go the extra mile to spread kindness and joy.

You don’t have to pay for the person behind you in line at the coffee shop to display thoughtfulness. Although that is certainly a considerate gesture, there are other ways to acknowledge the day, regardless of the actual date.

How about sharing some joy during your trips to the beautiful Alabama coast? Keep reading to learn just a few ways to show your kindness not only to others, but to the beach!

  • A small wave or smile at a fellow beachgoer can be just what someone needs to brighten their day.
  • Bring some trash bags and pick up litter along the shore.
  • Bike or take a walk to the beach for an environmentally friendly approach.
  • Use the recycle bins for any recyclable items you find or bring with you.
  • Offer to dispose of someone else’s trash as you make your way to the appropriate bins.
  • Compliment or offer up a “Good job!” if you see someone working on a sand castle or other sand art – or if they are picking up trash.
  • Take someone’s photo for them.

While strolling along the beach, you are sure to think of many more ways to have an impact on others as well as your environment.

Encourage your friends and family to join your efforts. We look forward to seeing you on the coast, making everyone happy, on Random Acts of Kindness Day and many other days this year!
