One of the best things about Coastal Alabama is that there is no bad time to visit. Orange Beach and Gulf Shores is a wonderful experience year round, so ditch the snow this winter and head to the beach!

Visiting the beach is a little different in the winter than the summer. A calm and peaceful feeling comes from walking along the uncrowded shoreline. Temperatures are mild, averaging around 60 degrees. Wait times at restaurants are shorter. But do remember to check the hours at local businesses, as some may be open with shorter or different hours during this season.

The savings of an off-season trip could be just what your wallet needs after the holidays. Parking is free on our public beaches from December through February and most vacation rentals adopt seasonal rates.

During the cooler months, the sun rises and sets over the Gulf of Mexico. Since this does not happen in the summer, winter visitors get extra opportunities for those gorgeous sun-over-the-water photographs and memories.

No matter what season you visit the beaches of Alabama, remember to follow the Leave Only Footprints lifestyle. This allows everyone to enjoy our coast!
