The off-season is a great time to visit the Alabama coast, and fall is a favorite season for many.

You’re going to encounter smaller crowds, both on the beach and in restaurants and shops. Kick back, relax and enjoy our beautiful area during a less congested time of year.

Cooler temperatures make it ideal for walking on the beach, enjoying outdoor recreation on our nature trails, and casting a line. Highs average in the mid-70s and night temps typically only drop to the low-50s. Don’t miss spending these beautiful days and evenings outside!

Another big plus this time of year: the many festivals along the coast. The 34th Annual Frank Brown International Songwriters’ Festival runs from Nov. 8 through 18; various venues in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach will host performances by the composers and lyricists of your favorite songs. The World Food Championships are set to take place Nov. 9-11 at The Wharf. And if you are a runner, come down for the 11th Annual Kaiser Coastal Half Marathon on Nov. 24.

Not enough reasons? How about saving on your rental with great seasonal rates?

So the question is: What’s not to love about fall on the coast? Just remember to Leave Only Footprints and follow clean beach guidelines while you’re here.
